 Mission statement

The Way of Takewondo Martial Arts operates on the Tennants of Taekwondo, the guidelines and requirements of the USA Taekwondo, and the World Taekwondo Federation. Our goal is to do more than teach the physical skill of Taekwondo, our goal is to teach a way of life, that will affect every aspect of your life.


Tenants of Tae Kwon Do

Courtesy - Courtesy means that one show respect and be polite and kind. A martial artist treats others as he or she would want to be treated.

Integrity Integrity means to be honest with yourself and others and know what is right and wrong. To try to always do what is right, but if a mistake is made, admit it and make amends.

Perseverance To have perseverance means to have a goal and to overcome obstacles along the way. Perseverance means not giving up. The spirit is to repeatedly try until success or the goal is reached.

Self-Control means being responsible and exercising prudence -- not to become excited or loose temper. It means act as if the Instructor were watching you.

Indomitable Spirit The martial arts fighting spirit is a way of facing life; not afraid to exercise what is right. It means to resist temptations and be strong minded. It means to defend the rights of yourself and others.

Tae Kwon Do Student Commitments

I will be loyal to my country.

3. To respect our School, The Way Of Taekwondo, and students and represent ourselves in a positive way.

Rules of the School

1. Bow to Flags, Instructor, and senior belts when entering and leaving the Dojang.
2. Only registered students should be on the mats.
3. No shoes, food or drinks allowed on the mats.
4. Bow before and after addressing a senior belt.
5. Everybody is responsible for the appearance of the Dojang.
6. If a junior displays a lack of knowledge of a rule or an appropriate technique, it is the responsibility of the senior to inform, clarify or teach.
7. You must train and attend classes regularly before attempting to test.
8. No horseplay or free sparring.
9. Have a clean uniform at all times.
10. No profanity, no loud talking.
11. Report all injuries and blisters to the instructor.
12. No alcohol, smoking, tobacco products, drugs, or chewing gum in the Dojang.
13. Turn away from the Flags, The Way Of Taekwondo instructor , and senior belts when adjusting your belt or Dobok.
14. Maintain discipline, know the Tenets of TaeKwonDo, and Student Creed.

About Our The Way Of Taekwondo and Staff Our staff is highly trained...

Question. Can young children become Black belts?
Answer. In a way, yes, but also no. Not to mislead anyone, a true Kukkiwon 1st Dan certification can't be earned until a student is at least 16 years old, students younger than that would be considered a Black Belt in training or a Poom.

The training, knowledge, strength, and skill level can be obtained, there is also a level of maturity and responsibility that is not recognized by the Kukkiwon in Korea until they are 16.

During this journey, they will build and improve their skills, learn respect, increased self confidence and maturity will increase as part of the journey. The Black Belt in Taekwondo, is the beginning of your journey, not the end as many think. It is where you have a proven foundation to build on.

In our Adult beginner's only class (no experience necessary), our professional instructor will work with you to ensure that you have a positive and safe experience in our Martial Arts program. Youth Martial Arts Programs Ages 7-14

Many experts recommend martial arts for children because a good program will teach both physical and mental skills. Our goal at The Way Of Taekwondo is to teach your child how to appropriately defend themselves, get them into great physical shape, and teach them special life lessons. In addition to the physical kicking and punching skills required to learn self-defense, your child will learn how to use discipline, respect, self-control, teamwork, and more to excel in academic school as well as at home with you. They can take these lessons with them and use them for a lifetime!

Teens Martial Arts Our Teens Martial Arts program will help your son or daughter develop a confident, positive outlook on life while getting into great shape and learning valuable self-defense lessons. As a parent of a teenager, you're surely hopeful that your son or daughter develops into a happy, healthy, responsible adult who is capable of taking care of him or herself.

Today's teens face a wide variety of obstacles to overcome that include not getting enough exercise, facing negative peer pressure, bullying, and sometimes a lack of self-discipline. Even the best kids can find it challenging to cope with just one of these obstacles, let alone several of them. That's exactly why we offer a specialized Teens Martial Arts class that is designed to: Get your teen into great physical shape Strengthen your child's sense of self-worth and confidence Give your teen a positive, enjoyable social activity, a way to meet friends with common goals Improve current agility and sportsmanship to help the participant excel at other sports Teach your teen how to defend himself or herself, and when to walk away to stay safe Our The Way Of Taekwondo "lead by example" and are positive role models for our students as they reinforce the principles of courtesy and respect - both of oneself and to others. There is no prior experience necessary to become a member of our Teens Martial Arts Program.
